1687 Activity: Observing a Parabolic Path

You can observe and sketch the parabolic path that Newton predicted by placing a ball on the table and having someone else roll it off the end while you observe it. Sketch what you see as your partner gives it more and more of a push. You can also record the result with a camera that allows a long exposure or a video camera that may be in your laptop or iPod.
